Ten numbered main-series Fast & Furious films had been released through Fast X.
The count begins with The Fast and the Furious in 2001 and continues through 2 Fast 2 Furious, Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, F9, and Fast X. Fast X, released in 2023, is therefore the tenth main-series film.
This total excludes the spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which is part of the franchise but not part of the numbered main storyline. It also excludes short films such as The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious and Los Bandoleros.
The naming can cause confusion because the fourth film is officially titled Fast & Furious, while the eighth uses The Fate of the Furious. Despite those variations, both belong to the ten-film main series counted through Fast X.
