Destiny’s Child’s best-known final lineup had three members: Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams.
The trio became one of the most successful female groups in popular music, especially after the release of albums such as The Writing’s on the Wall and Survivor. Their major songs included “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” and “Bootylicious.”
The group’s membership changed several times during its early years. LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett were part of an earlier four-member lineup, but both departed in 2000. Farrah Franklin briefly joined the group after those departures before leaving later that same year. The stable trio of Beyoncé, Rowland, and Williams then became the lineup most associated with Destiny’s Child.
The group announced a temporary hiatus in 2002 and formally disbanded after subsequent work. Its final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled, was released in 2004, and the members reunited for selected performances afterward.
