Crash and Coco start Crash Bandicoot: Warped with five lives.
The starting total applies to the shared game state rather than giving Crash and Coco five separate sets of lives. A life is lost when the controlled character is hit by an enemy or suffers another damaging obstacle. If the supply reaches zero, the game presents a continue option instead of ending the adventure permanently.
Warped gives players several ways to build that supply back up. Collecting 100 Wumpa Fruits awards an extra life, and special crates can contain one as well. Aku Aku masks provide temporary protection, but they are shields rather than additional lives, so confusing the two can lead to a different answer.
The five-life start is part of the game’s standard campaign rules. Warped’s broader progression centers on five chambers, each with five regular levels and a boss portal unlocked after those levels are completed. The 1998 Naughty Dog platformer also adds relic time trials, gems, and vehicle stages to the familiar Crash formula.
