There are 6 hub worlds in the original Spyro the Dragon. They are the five dragon Homeworlds—Artisans, Peace Keepers, Magic Crafters, Beast Makers, and Dream Weavers—plus Gnorc Gnexus, also known as Gnasty’s World.
Each hub acts as a central launch point, containing portals to several open-ended platforming levels, a boss stage, and a hidden flight stage. Spyro advances between hubs with help from balloonists after meeting the required progression goals.
The most common mix-up is answering 5 because the story describes five dragon Homeworlds. That count excludes Gnorc Gnexus, which is still a playable hub world in the game’s structure. It serves as the final region where Spyro confronts Gnasty Gnorc.
Released for the original PlayStation in 1998, Spyro the Dragon was developed by Insomniac Games. Its hub-and-portal design helped distinguish it from more linear 3D platformers of the period.
