Beyoncé won five Grammy Awards at the 2004 ceremony.
The 46th Annual Grammy Awards took place on February 8, 2004. Beyoncé’s victories came during the breakthrough period surrounding her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. Her awards included Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
She also won for “Crazy in Love,” her collaboration with Jay-Z, and received recognition in the R&B performance and song categories. The five-award total made the ceremony a major milestone in her solo career after years of success with Destiny’s Child.
This result is distinct from Beyoncé’s lifetime Grammy total, which continued to grow across later ceremonies. It is also separate from the record associated with the 2010 ceremony, when she won six awards in one night. The 2004 ceremony therefore represents five wins, not six.
