Jack Hinshelwood scored two goals against Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Hinshelwood scored twice in just 79 seconds during Brighton’s 4–0 victory on 23 August 2026. His double helped Brighton build a four-goal lead within the first 31 minutes at the Amex Stadium.
The 21-year-old midfielder had finished the previous season strongly, scoring three goals in Brighton’s final five matches of 2025–26. His opening-weekend performance continued that late-season momentum and made him one of the most memorable players of Matchweek 1.
Brighton’s other goals came from Maxim De Cuyper and an own goal by Aston Villa defender Victor Lindelöf. Hinshelwood’s two strikes therefore accounted for half of Brighton’s total in the match.
