Brighton scored four goals in the first 31 minutes against Aston Villa in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Aston Villa 4–0 at the Amex Stadium on Sunday 23 August 2026. All four Brighton goals arrived during the opening 31 minutes, giving the home side a commanding advantage before half-time.
Villa also played much of the match with 10 men, which contributed to Brighton’s emphatic start. The victory became the largest home win of the season at that point, although Chelsea’s 6–0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in 2010 remained the biggest opening-weekend win in Premier League history.
Brighton became only the fourth team to score four first-half goals on Matchweek 1. The other teams were Bolton Wanderers in 2001, Manchester United in 2007 and Liverpool in 2020.
