How many earlier theatrical featurettes were combined to make The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh?

The story behind the answer

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh combines three earlier theatrical featurettes.

The component films are Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too. They were released in 1966, 1968 and 1974 respectively, before being assembled into the 1977 feature.

Disney added bridging material so that the separate stories would play as a connected film. The 1977 version also includes an ending inspired by the final chapter of The House at Pooh Corner, in which Christopher Robin prepares to leave the forest as he grows older.

The film is therefore best described as an animated compilation rather than a completely newly animated, single continuous adventure. A fourth Pooh featurette, Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, followed in 1983 and was later associated with home-video editions.
