How many clean-sheet wins were recorded in the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend?

The story behind the answer

Six clean-sheet wins were recorded in the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.

The shutout victories were Arsenal 3–0 Coventry City, Hull City 2–0 Manchester United, Nottingham Forest 0–1 Leeds United, Everton 2–0 Crystal Palace, Brentford 3–0 Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton 4–0 Aston Villa.

The remaining four matches did not produce clean sheets. Ipswich Town beat Sunderland 2–1, Manchester City defeated Bournemouth 2–1, Newcastle drew 2–2 with Liverpool, and Chelsea won 3–2 at Fulham.

A clean sheet means a team concedes zero goals in a match. It does not require the winning side to score a particular number of goals, so both 1–0 and 4–0 victories qualify.
