Two away teams won during the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The away victories were Leeds United’s 1–0 win at Nottingham Forest and Chelsea’s 3–2 win at Fulham. Both matches were decided by a single goal, although Chelsea’s game produced five goals overall.
The other seven completed fixtures were home wins or, in Newcastle United versus Liverpool, a draw. Arsenal, Hull City, Ipswich Town, Everton, Brentford, Brighton and Manchester City all won on home soil.
Counting away victories is different from counting all away points. Newcastle and Liverpool shared a point in their draw, so that match did not add to the away-win total. The opening round therefore produced a clear home advantage: seven home wins, two away wins and one draw.
