828 metres
Answer
828 metres
The Burj Khalifa is 828 metres tall, making it the world’s tallest building.
Located in Downtown Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the skyscraper opened in 2010. It was designed by the Chicago-based architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, with Adrian Smith serving as chief architect.
The tower’s Y-shaped floor plan helps resist wind and provides views in three directions. Its structural system combines a reinforced-concrete buttressed core with wings that support one another around the central core.
The building was known as Burj Dubai during construction and was renamed Burj Khalifa at its opening. Its height includes the architectural spire; occupied floors and publicly accessible observation levels are lower than the overall summit.
