By what minute had Brighton scored all four of their goals against Aston Villa in the 2026–27 Premier League opener?

The story behind the answer

Brighton had scored all four of their goals by the 31st minute against Aston Villa in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.

Brighton defeated Aston Villa 4–0 at the Amex Stadium on 23 August 2026. The home side produced an explosive first half, racing to four goals before the half-hour mark had passed.

Jack Hinshelwood scored twice in just 79 seconds. Maxim De Cuyper added another goal, while Villa defender Victor Lindelöf scored an own goal. Brighton’s four-goal burst was complete by the 31st minute.

Villa’s afternoon worsened when João Gomes was sent off five minutes before half-time. Brighton did not add to the score after the interval, but the result still became the largest opening-weekend home win of the round. The performance also made Brighton only the fourth team to score four first-half goals in a Matchweek 1 fixture.
