At which Los Angeles studio was most of Metallica's self-titled album, commonly called The Black Album, recorded?

The story behind the answer

Most of Metallica's self-titled album, commonly called The Black Album, was recorded at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

The main recording sessions took place there from October 1990 through June 1991. The studio became closely associated with the album's large, polished drum and guitar sound.

The band also spent about a week recording at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. Additional overdubs and mixing took place at A&M Studios in Hollywood near the end of the project.

Because several facilities were involved, A&M Studios is sometimes incorrectly identified as the main recording location. One on One was the principal studio for the album's core sessions.
