At which floors are the Petronas Towers' famous skybridge connections?
Answer
Floors 41 and 42
Answer
Floors 41 and 42
Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers are connected by a skybridge at floors 41 and 42.
The two towers were completed in 1998 and designed by Argentine-American architect César Pelli. The double-decker skybridge links the towers at the same levels, but it is not rigidly fixed to both structures. This arrangement allows the towers to move independently during wind or other motion while maintaining the connection.
The Petronas Towers became the world’s tallest buildings in 1998, surpassing Chicago’s Sears Tower, now called Willis Tower. They retained the overall title until Taipei 101 surpassed them in 2004. The towers remain the world’s tallest twin skyscrapers. Their floor plan is based on interlocking geometric forms associated with Islamic design, an important architectural reference in Malaysia.
