Beyoncé’s Homecoming performance took place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018.
She headlined Coachella on April 14 and April 21, 2018. The performance was notable for its large marching-band arrangements, choreography, dancers, guest appearances, and celebration of Black college and university culture.
Beyoncé became the first Black woman to headline Coachella. The performance was filmed and later became the subject of the 2019 Netflix documentary Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
The set included Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as well as Beyoncé’s sister Solange. The event is sometimes called “Beychella,” a fan-created nickname rather than the festival’s official name.
