Beyoncé headlined Coachella in 2018 in the performance later released as Homecoming.
She performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2018, becoming the first Black woman to headline the festival. The set was widely noted for its large marching-band and dance-centered production.
The performance featured appearances by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, reuniting Destiny’s Child onstage. Beyoncé also incorporated musical references to historically Black colleges and universities, including marching-band traditions and step-show aesthetics.
Netflix released Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé in 2019, combining concert footage with rehearsal and preparation scenes. Coachella is the festival answer; Homecoming is the later film and live album title, not the event itself.
