At which 2018 festival did Beyoncé headline the historic “Beychella” performance?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé headlined Coachella in 2018, in a performance widely nicknamed “Beychella.” She became the first Black woman to headline the festival, formally known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Her set took place over two weekends in April 2018. It featured a large marching-band-style ensemble, choreography, guest appearances, and songs from different periods of her career. The performance drew heavily on historically Black college and university band traditions.

The performance was later released as the live album and concert film Homecoming. Beyoncé had originally been scheduled to perform in 2017, but postponed after becoming pregnant with twins. The 2018 appearance is therefore separate from the festival’s 2017 headlining lineup.
