Brighton & Hove Albion versus Aston Villa was scheduled for 14:00 BST in the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
The match was set for Sunday 23 August 2026 at Brighton’s Falmer Stadium. Manchester City versus Bournemouth was scheduled for the same UK kick-off time on that Sunday.
The Premier League explained that Brighton’s European commitments influenced the scheduling. Brighton were due to participate in UEFA Conference League qualifying play-offs on the preceding Thursday, so their league match was placed on Sunday rather than Saturday.
Kick-off times can vary by country because broadcasters publish local conversions. The official UK listing used 14:00, while international viewers may see a different clock time. This question therefore specifies UK time and British Summer Time, the zone in effect in August.
