The Saturday evening fixture was played at Brentford Community Stadium on 22 August 2026. It was the final Premier League match of that Saturday, following the three 15:00 fixtures and the lunchtime meeting between Hull City and Manchester United.
Brentford won the match 3–0, beginning the season with a convincing home victory. Tottenham therefore finished the first Saturday without a goal, while Brentford joined the group of teams recording three-goal wins in Matchweek 1.
The official schedule used British Summer Time because the match was played in August. The 17:30 start should not be confused with the opening round’s 20:00 Friday and Monday fixtures, or Newcastle United versus Liverpool’s 16:30 Sunday kick-off.
