At AC/DC's formation in 1973, who played bass guitar?

The story behind the answer

At AC/DC’s formation in 1973, Larry Van Kriedt played bass guitar. He was part of the original Sydney lineup assembled by Malcolm and Angus Young, alongside vocalist Dave Evans and drummer Colin Burgess.

Van Kriedt was born in San Francisco and moved with his family to Sydney, where he met the Young brothers. His musical background was broader than hard rock: he was also a guitarist, saxophonist, vocalist, and jazz musician. AC/DC’s first official show was played on 31 December 1973, only a short time after the original lineup came together.

His time in the band was short. Van Kriedt was replaced in early 1974, and AC/DC went through several bassists before Mark Evans joined in 1975 and Cliff Williams took over in 1977. Paul Matters was a later, brief bassist, while Cliff Williams became part of the classic late-1970s lineup. Thus, those names belong to subsequent eras, not the band’s formation lineup.
