According to Genesis, where was the door of Noah’s Ark located?

According to Genesis, the door of Noah’s Ark was in its side.

Genesis 6:16 gives Noah instructions to make a door in the side of the Ark. The same passage also mentions a window and three levels. After Noah and the animals enter, Genesis says that God shut him in, making the door a significant part of the narrative’s transition from preparation to the Flood.

The verse does not identify the side as port or starboard, and it does not describe hinges, stairs, ramps, or the door’s dimensions. Those details appear in later artistic reconstructions and modern models rather than in the biblical text.
