According to Genesis, Noah’s Ark had one opening specifically described as a window.
Genesis 6:16 instructs Noah to make a window for the ark and to finish it to a cubit above. The same verse mentions a door in the ark’s side, so the window and door are distinct features. The text does not provide a detailed plan showing multiple windows or their exact shape.
Genesis 8:6 later says that Noah opened the window he had made after forty days. From it, he sent out the raven and subsequently the dove. This links the construction instruction directly to the Flood’s aftermath and the search for dry land.
Translations differ over some architectural wording in the verse, and interpretations sometimes visualize the opening as a roof feature. Still, the canonical narrative explicitly refers to a window and separately to a door. “Skylight” is a modern descriptive interpretation, not the text’s standard noun.
