According to Genesis, Noah’s youngest son was Ham. Genesis 9:24 calls Ham Noah’s youngest son in the account that follows Noah’s drunkenness and the actions of his sons.
Noah’s three sons are named Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 7:13 lists them among the people who entered the Ark with Noah, and Genesis 10 presents descendants associated with each son. These genealogical traditions became important in later Jewish and Christian interpretations of the origins of peoples and nations.
A common source of confusion is the order in which the sons are listed. Genesis often names Shem, Ham, and Japheth in that sequence, but the narrative explicitly describes Ham as the youngest son in Genesis 9:24.
Ham should also not be confused with Canaan, his son. The later episode concerns Noah’s curse on Canaan, not a statement that Ham himself was cursed in the same way. That distinction is important when reading the passage carefully.
