According to Genesis, Noah’s first cultivated crop after the Flood was a vineyard.
Genesis 9:20 says that Noah began farming and planted a vineyard after the covenant episode. The following verses describe him drinking wine, becoming uncovered inside his tent, and the actions of his sons. This is the first agricultural activity specifically mentioned for Noah after the ark narrative concludes.
The vineyard should not be confused with the olive leaf brought back by the dove. That leaf is evidence that trees had reappeared above the receding waters, but Genesis does not say Noah planted an olive grove. Nor does the text identify wheat or figs as his first crop. The vineyard episode also introduces wine into the post-Flood story and provides the immediate setting for the family incident involving Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
