According to Genesis, Noah’s Ark was 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high.

Genesis 6:15 gives the ark’s three main dimensions in order: 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. This produces a long, relatively low vessel with a length-to-width ratio of 6:1 and a length-to-height ratio of 10:1.

The exact modern size depends on how the ancient cubit is calculated. Common estimates place the width around 23 metres and the height around 14 metres, though other estimates differ. These measurements are textual dimensions, not confirmed measurements of a surviving ancient vessel.

The biblical account adds that the ark had three decks and an opening near the top. Its design is therefore presented as a large enclosed barge-like structure intended to float, rather than as a ship designed for navigation. Reconstructions often make additional assumptions about the hull, steering, materials, and internal layout.
