According to Genesis, what did Noah's dove bring back after its second release?

The story behind the answer

According to Genesis, Noah's dove returned with a freshly plucked olive leaf after its second release.

Genesis 8:10–11 says Noah waited seven days and sent the dove out again. It came back in the evening carrying the leaf, showing that vegetation had reappeared and that the waters were receding from the land.

The passage does not say the dove returned with a complete branch or specify the tree's location. The Hebrew wording is commonly translated as a freshly plucked olive leaf, and the image became a compact sign of renewed life and peace.

This was the second recorded release of the dove. After another seven-day interval, Noah sent it out once more, and it did not return. The sequence follows the raven's earlier release and is separate from the later rainbow covenant.
