According to Genesis, how old was Noah when the Flood began?

According to Genesis, Noah was 600 years old when the Flood began.

Genesis 7:6 states that Noah was six hundred years old when the waters of the Flood came upon the earth. The age appears in the narrative immediately before the account of Noah, his family, and the animals entering the Ark.

The same biblical material gives other ages connected with Noah. Genesis says Noah was 500 years old when his sons were born, and Genesis 9:28 says he lived 350 years after the Flood. It gives his total lifespan as 950 years. These figures belong to the chronology of Genesis and are not modern historical dating.

The Flood account does not provide a calendar year in the common era. Its chronology is expressed through Noah’s age and intervals such as the stated duration of the waters. Readers sometimes confuse Noah’s age at the Flood with his age at death.
