According to Genesis, Noah was 601 years old when he left Noah’s Ark and stepped onto dry ground.
Genesis 8:13 says that in Noah’s 601st year, on the first day of the first month, the waters had dried from the earth. Noah then removed the covering of the ark and saw that the surface was dry. Genesis 8:14 adds that the earth was completely dry by the twenty-seventh day of the second month, after which God told Noah to leave.
The figure is easy to confuse with Noah’s age when the flood began. Genesis 7:6 says Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came. The difference reflects the passage of time inside the ark and the calendar dates used in the narrative.
