According to Genesis, how many windows did Noah’s Ark have?
Answer
One window
Answer
One window
According to Genesis, Noah’s Ark had one described window or opening.
Genesis 6:16 instructs Noah to make a tsohar for the Ark and finish it to within one cubit. English translations differ on how to render this term: many say “window,” while others use “roof,” “light,” or a related expression.
Because of that translation issue, the safest statement is that Genesis describes one such opening or light feature, rather than providing a modern architectural count of every aperture. The same verse separately mentions a door in the side of the Ark.
This detail is often confused with the Ark’s three decks or its multiple compartments. Genesis gives those construction features separately, but it does not supply a complete blueprint showing windows on each level.
