According to Genesis, Noah waited seven days between sending the dove from the Ark.
Genesis 8:10 says Noah waited another seven days before sending the dove again after its first return. Genesis 8:12 repeats the seven-day interval before the third release, when the dove did not come back.
The timing belongs to the careful sequence used to determine whether the land was ready. Noah did not simply leave as soon as a bird returned with evidence of vegetation; he continued waiting and observing. Genesis later says he left only after God instructed him to come out.
This detail is easy to confuse with the 40 days of rain and the 150 days of prevailing waters. Those numbers measure different stages of the narrative, while seven days describes the intervals in Noah’s bird tests.
