Who won the first WWE Elimination Chamber match at Survivor Series 2002?
Answer
Shawn Michaels
Answer
Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels won the first WWE Elimination Chamber match at Survivor Series 2002.
The inaugural Chamber match took place on November 17, 2002, at Madison Square Garden. Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kane, Booker T and Rob Van Dam competed for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Michaels entered the match late and eliminated Triple H to win the championship. The victory made him the first winner of a match format that became one of WWE’s signature stipulation events.
The Elimination Chamber uses a large steel structure with four enclosed pods. Two wrestlers begin the match, while the others enter at timed intervals. Competitors are eliminated by pinfall or submission, and the last wrestler remaining wins. The match is sometimes confused with Hell in a Cell, but the Chamber’s defining feature is its timed-entry pods.
