Lux Pyramid won the 2026 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).
Pyramid’s orchestrations for Two Strangers received the Tony award in the musical-orchestrations category. The production was one of six original musicals eligible for the 2026 ceremony and also received nominations in several other categories.
Orchestration is the process of arranging music for the instrumental forces used in a production. It differs from a show’s book, score authorship, and sound design, although all four areas contribute to the audience’s musical experience.
The other listed orchestration nominees were Doug Besterman and Mike Morris for Schmigadoon!, Kyler England, Adrianne Gonzalez, Ethan Popp, and Gabriel Mann for The Lost Boys, Trevor Holder, Doug Schadt, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and David Wilson for Cats: The Jellicle Ball, and Brian Usifer for Chess.
