Who won the 2024 Australian Open women's singles title without losing a set?
Answer
Aryna Sabalenka
Answer
Aryna Sabalenka
Aryna Sabalenka won the 2024 Australian Open women's singles title without losing a set.
The Belarusian entered Melbourne Park as the defending champion and defeated Zheng Qinwen 6–3, 6–2 in the final. Across seven matches, Sabalenka dropped no sets and lost only 31 games, an unusually dominant run at a Grand Slam.
Her route included victories over Lesia Tsurenko, Amanda Anisimova, Barbora Krejčíková and Coco Gauff before the final. The championship was Sabalenka's second Australian Open title and her second major singles trophy overall.
A common mix-up is confusing the 2024 champion with the tournament's top seed, Iga Świątek. Świątek was the world No. 1 but lost in the third round to Linda Nosková. Sabalenka also became the first woman to defend the Australian Open title since Victoria Azarenka did so in 2013.
