Bret Hart won the 1993 WWF King of the Ring tournament by defeating Bam Bam Bigelow in the final.
The tournament was held on June 13, 1993, at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. Hart defeated Razor Ramon and Mr. Perfect earlier in the night before overcoming Bigelow in the concluding match. His victory made him the second wrestler to win the King of the Ring tournament as a standalone pay-per-view event.
The 1993 tournament was particularly notable because Hart wrestled three matches on the same show. Afterward, Jerry “The King” Lawler attacked Hart and declared himself the true king, leading to a feud that continued at SummerSlam 1993.
This tournament is sometimes confused with the 1985 King of the Ring event, which was a separate tournament and is listed as the inaugural WWF edition. Hart’s 1993 victory remains one of the major milestones of his early singles career.
