Michael B. Jordan won Male Actor in a Leading Role for Sinners at the 2026 SAG Awards.

Jordan played twin brothers Elijah “Smokey” Moore and William “Stack” Moore in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. The dual role required him to distinguish two central characters within the same story, while the film also combined period drama, crime, horror and supernatural elements. His performance earned the ceremony’s principal male film acting prize.

The victory was especially notable because Sinners also won the cast award, giving the film two major motion-picture acting honors. Jordan’s SAG win was separate from the supporting-actor category, which went to Sean Penn for One Battle After Another. The category is determined by SAG-AFTRA members and recognizes an individual leading performance in a motion picture.

Jordan had previously worked with Coogler on Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther. Sinners therefore marked another major collaboration between the actor and director, this time with Jordan portraying two characters in a story set in 1932 Mississippi.
