What roles did Michael B. Jordan play in Sinners, which won him a 2026 SAG Award?
Answer
Smoke and Stack
Michael B. Jordan played the twin brothers Smoke and Stack in Sinners, earning the 2026 SAG Award for male actor in a leading role.
The dual performance is central to Ryan Coogler’s film. Smoke and Stack return to their Mississippi hometown in 1932 and open a juke joint, where supernatural events threaten their community. Jordan portrays both brothers, giving the story two closely connected but distinct central figures.
The role detail is useful because the 2026 award recognized Jordan’s performance in the film, while Sinners separately won the cast award. The two prizes therefore honored different levels of achievement: Jordan’s individual work and the ensemble’s collective performance.
