Who was the youngest-ever investor to join the British show Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

Steven Bartlett was the youngest-ever investor to join the British show Dragons' Den.

Bartlett joined the investor panel in 2021 for the programme's nineteenth series. He was 29 when he became a Dragon, making him the youngest person to hold that role in the British version at the time of his appointment.

Before appearing on television, Bartlett co-founded the social-media marketing agency Social Chain with Dominic McGregor. The company grew into an international social-media business, and Bartlett became known for discussing entrepreneurship, digital marketing and online communities. Those areas gave him a different profile from Dragons whose careers were rooted mainly in traditional retail or manufacturing.

The “youngest-ever” description refers to age at the time of joining the British panel, not to the age of every investor at every later point. It also should not be confused with being the youngest entrepreneur to pitch on the programme. Bartlett's distinction concerns the investor role itself.
