Who was the senior director and original concept creator of Pokémon Pokopia?

Shigeru Ohmori was Pokémon Pokopia's senior director and original concept creator.

Ohmori conceived the spin-off while considering new approaches for the Pokémon franchise. His earlier work as a map designer on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire helped inspire the idea that players could create and cultivate their own Pokémon habitats.

The game involved several other notable developers. Takuto Edagawa served as chief director at Omega Force, while Marina Ayano was the art director and Kanako Murata produced the game. These roles are separate from Ohmori's senior-director and concept responsibilities.

Ohmori is also associated with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, where he served as director. That connection can lead to confusion about which project he directed, but Pokopia's development credits specifically identify him as its senior director and concept originator.
