Who was the original presenter of the British television show Dragon's Den?

Adrian Chiles was the original presenter of the British television show Dragon's Den.

The programme began on BBC Two in 2005, with Chiles guiding entrepreneurs through their pitches to a panel of wealthy investors. His role included introducing each business, explaining the entrepreneurs' proposals and helping viewers follow the negotiations.

Chiles left Dragon's Den after the 2011 series. Evan Davis then became the programme's presenter, beginning with the 2012 series. This change is a common source of confusion because Davis became much more closely associated with the modern programme.

The presenter is separate from the Dragons themselves. Chiles did not invest in the businesses; the entrepreneurs negotiated directly with the panel, who could make offers individually or together.
