Peter Jones was the only original Dragon to appear in every series of the British show Dragons' Den.
Jones joined the programme when it began in 2005 and remained a regular investor across its subsequent series. His business interests have included technology, media, retail and property, giving him a broad profile suited to the programme's varied pitches.
The original panel also featured Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. All four eventually left the regular panel, while Jones continued as a central member of the cast. Later investors included Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis, Kelly Hoppen and Touker Suleyman.
The phrase “original Dragon” refers to the investors on the inaugural panel, rather than every person who has ever invested on the programme. Jones is also often identified as the longest-serving Dragon and the sole original investor to remain throughout the series run.
