Paul McCartney was the last Beatle to get married for the first time. He married Linda Eastman on March 12, 1969, after the other three Beatles had already entered their first marriages.
John Lennon married Cynthia Powell in 1962, Ringo Starr married Maureen Cox in 1965, and George Harrison married model Pattie Boyd in 1966. McCartney’s wedding to Eastman therefore came last, even though he was the first of the Beatles to have a child during the band’s active years.
Linda became McCartney’s musical partner as well as his wife. She joined Wings, the band Paul formed after the Beatles broke up, and played keyboards and sang on many of its recordings. The couple remained married until Linda’s death from breast cancer in 1998. Paul later married Heather Mills in 2002 and Nancy Shevell in 2011, but those later marriages do not affect the wording “for the first time.” The answer is sometimes confused with Ringo because he was the last Beatle to marry a second time among some commonly repeated lists, but Paul’s 1969 wedding was the latest first marriage.
