Who was the first female dragon on the UK television programme Dragon's Den?

Rachel Elnaugh was the first female dragon on the UK television programme Dragon's Den.

Elnaugh appeared on the original investor panel when the BBC series launched in 2005. She was known for building Red Letter Days, a company selling experience gifts such as leisure and entertainment packages.

Her time on the programme was brief compared with some later investors. Red Letter Days entered administration in 2005, and Elnaugh left the panel after the first series. The business was subsequently acquired by Dragons' Den investor Peter Jones.

Deborah Meaden later became one of the programme's most recognisable investors, but she was not the first woman to occupy a seat in the UK version. Kelly Hoppen and other female dragons joined in later series.
