Who was Google’s first chief executive officer?
Answer
Larry Page
Answer
Larry Page
Larry Page was Google’s first chief executive officer.
Page co-founded Google with Sergey Brin and served as the company’s initial CEO after Google was incorporated in 1998. His early leadership covered the company’s transition from a Stanford research project into a commercial search business.
In 2001, Eric Schmidt became Google’s chief executive, while Page continued as president of products. Schmidt’s tenure helped guide Google through major expansion in advertising, search, and internet services.
Larry Page later returned as Google CEO in 2011 and became CEO of Alphabet when the new parent company was created in 2015. Sundar Pichai succeeded him as Google CEO in 2015, so he was not the first.
