Who voiced the character Luke Skywalker in the Season 2 finale?

The story behind the answer

Mark Hamill voiced and portrayed Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale.

Luke arrives in “Chapter 16: The Rescue” after Grogu reaches out through the Force. He cuts through Moff Gideon's Dark Troopers, rescues Grogu, and agrees to take him for Jedi training. The episode ends with an emotional farewell between Grogu and Din Djarin, making Luke's appearance one of the series' most widely discussed reveals.

Hamill reprised his Star Wars role using digitally de-aged imagery and voice work. Max Lloyd-Jones served as the on-set body double for the younger-looking Luke, but he was not the actor who voiced the character. This distinction explains why his name sometimes appears in discussions of the scene.

Luke's appearance takes place about five years after Return of the Jedi, when he is rebuilding the Jedi tradition. The other options are connected to Star Wars, but Max von Sydow played Lor San Tekka, Alden Ehrenreich played Han Solo, and Sebastian Stan has not played Luke in the series.
