Who played Commander Helgait in Season 3 of The Mandalorian?
Answer
Christopher Lloyd
Answer
Christopher Lloyd
Christopher Lloyd played Commander Helgait in Season 3 of The Mandalorian.
Helgait is the elderly head of security on Plazir-15, the seemingly idyllic world visited in “Chapter 22: Guns for Hire.” The character is secretly a surviving Separatist loyalist and organizes the planet’s droid uprising, believing that droids should be free from the restrictions imposed by their organic rulers.
Lloyd’s casting adds a science-fiction icon to an episode already packed with guest appearances. He is internationally known for playing Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, while Helgait gives him a very different kind of eccentric authority figure within the Star Wars setting.
Viewers sometimes confuse Helgait with the other season-three cameos. Jack Black plays Captain Bombardier, Ahmed Best plays Kelleran Beq, and Tim Meadows plays Colonel Tuttle. Helgait’s episode also features Lizzo as the Duchess of Plazir-15 and centers on Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze investigating malfunctioning security droids.
