Who served as Pokémon Pokopia’s senior director and general producer?

Shigeru Ohmori served as Pokémon Pokopia’s senior director and general producer.

Ohmori is a Game Freak director and designer who worked on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire as a map designer early in his career. While thinking about new directions for Pokémon, he returned to the idea of players creating and cultivating their own habitats, which became the foundation for Pokopia.

His earlier connection to Ruby and Sapphire is part of the game’s development history. Ohmori’s experience with maps and world design helped inspire a project focused on reshaping landscapes rather than simply traveling through them.

Takuto Edagawa also held a major leadership role as chief director, so the two names can be confused. However, the specific senior director and general producer credit belongs to Shigeru Ohmori.
