Who replaced Adrian Chiles as the presenter of Dragon's Den after its first series?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis replaced Adrian Chiles as the presenter of Dragon's Den after its first series.

Davis became closely associated with the programme because he explained each pitch, introduced the entrepreneurs and summarised the outcome of negotiations. His presentation helped make unfamiliar business concepts, such as turnover, gross margin and equity dilution, understandable to a general audience.

Before and alongside Dragon's Den, Davis built a career in economics and journalism. He presented BBC Radio 4's Today programme and later Newsnight, giving him a strong background in explaining financial and political issues clearly.

A frequent misunderstanding is to identify Davis as the launch presenter because he hosted many more episodes than Chiles. The distinction is straightforward: Chiles presented series one, while Davis took over afterward and became the familiar host for much of the show's run.
