What travel product did Rob Law pitch unsuccessfully on the British television series Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Rob Law pitched the travel product Trunki unsuccessfully on the British television series Dragon's Den.

Trunki is a ride-on children’s suitcase designed so that a child can sit on it and pull or ride it through an airport. Law presented the idea during the programme’s third series, but the Dragons did not invest in the business.

The product later became a major commercial success through Magmatic, the company founded by Law. Its bright colours, child-focused design and use as both luggage and a ride-on toy helped it stand out in the crowded travel-goods market.

The story is often cited as a reminder that a television rejection does not necessarily predict a product’s future. Trunki’s later success also led to confusion about whether the programme’s investors owned the brand; they did not acquire it through that pitch.
