Who published Mario Party 2 for the Nintendo 64?
Answer
Nintendo
Answer
Nintendo
Nintendo published Mario Party 2 for the Nintendo 64.
Mario Party 2 was developed by Hudson Soft as the sequel to the 1998 original, but Nintendo handled publishing. The game launched in Japan in December 1999, followed by North America in January 2000 and PAL regions later that year.
The sequel kept the series’ board-game structure while expanding it with purchasable items, themed character costumes and new minigame categories, including Battle, Item and Duel minigames. Players still competed to collect coins and buy stars, with each turn followed by a minigame. The six returning playable characters were Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario and Donkey Kong.
The most likely confusion is between publisher and developer: Hudson Soft created the game, but Nintendo published it. Mario Party 2 was originally a Nintendo 64 title and was later re-released through the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console services, as well as Nintendo’s Nintendo 64 Classics service on Switch.
