Which studio developed Mario Party 4?

The story behind the answer

Hudson Soft developed Mario Party 4.

Hudson Soft was the Japanese game company responsible for developing Mario Party 4, while Nintendo published it for the GameCube. Hudson had created the earlier mainline Mario Party games as well, making Mario Party 4 part of the franchise’s original Hudson-developed era.

The title was released in 2002 and was the first Mario Party game to appear on a console other than Nintendo 64. It kept the series’ central structure—four characters moving across a board, collecting coins and Stars, and playing minigames—but presented its boards in a more fully 3D style suited to the GameCube.

A common mix-up is confusing Hudson Soft with NDcube, now known as Nintendo Cube. NDcube became the main Mario Party developer starting with Mario Party 9 in 2012, after Hudson Soft’s involvement with the series ended. Intelligent Systems and Camelot also developed notable Nintendo titles, but neither developed Mario Party 4.
